The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing has emerged as a transformative paradigm for enhancing Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the synergy between AI and edge computing, highlighting their combined potential to improve efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance data privacy and security in IoT environments. We discuss key concepts, challenges, and opportunities in integrating AI with edge computing and present case studies and use cases that demonstrate the practical benefits of this integration. Additionally, we analyze the future trends and research directions in this field, outlining strategies to leverage AI and edge computing for developing innovative and sustainable IoT solutions.
