Solar winds cyber-attack of 2020 marked as a crucial moment in the cyber security environment and highlighted the critical need of enhanced identity and access management strategies. This paper focuses on the important lessons learned from the attack and providing comprehensive future strategies for strengthening IAM frameworks in enterprise environment. This research explores the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies can be used to automate security controls, ensure compliance, mitigate the risk associated with misconfiguration and configuration drift in cloud infrastructures.
